Internships
So, you're thinking about becoming an Intern? Find out how you can help, but also how you can benefit from becoming an Intern at Heal The World Global. Because our interns offer their love, time and energy, they gain much more than they receive. Their impact is global and their love reaches the people who need them the most!

>> What kind of people become interns in our organization?
Any organization is as good as its members. Our Interns are highly motivated individuals who want to make a difference. Coming together from all over the world, they are not afraid to take on huge challenges. They get to choose their own paths and learn from our in-house professionals. They get to hone the skills they need to launch them on their own careers. Our Interns have the option to eventually become full-time employees.

>> What activities do Interns do?
From organizational work such as extensive research, to active problem-solving, our Interns work based off of their skills, personality, motivation and career goals. Some like to spend hours going down the rabbit hole pursuing knowledge on a particular topic, while others are more keen on working with their hands. Whatever it is, there's a place for everyone and we are open to head-starting their career together.

>> What benefits do Interns have?
Besides working in an international organization that has massive global impact, along which comes great self-satisfaction, our Interns get to learn and grow together with our in-house professionals. We are a flat organization and everybody is part of a team, so we share everything: the good, the bad and the ugly.

Since we are more than a non-profit, we are a social business, our Interns are shown the ropes of launching a small business and are trained hand in hand with our employees in subjects such as time management, mental health management, financial literacy, and more. They get to choose their own career paths and the skills they want honed the most.

>> Is the work fully remote or predominantly grassroots?
For those who live outside of Japan and California respectively, the jobs are fully remote. The grassroots projects are led by local volunteers using local resources. If you have a project close to your heart that you want to do in your neighborhood, we will gladly help you by sending our teams to support you. The working style is flexible and completely up to the Intern.

>> In what other ways can I help?
As an Intern you have the freedom to choose whatever project to get involved with, and there are more than one ways in which you can help, like for example:

(a) becoming an intern with the intention of turning the internship into permanent employment;
(b) sharing our social media content;
(c) introducing us to the right people (who share our values and vision);
(d) donate your skills, physical/digital goods or money to either one of our causes;
(e) talk to your organization to become our partners or corporate donors;
(f) share your story with us;
(g) talk about us with friends or family and spread the love!

>> Will it be a paid internship?
Unfortunately, at this time, the Internship is not paid. We have limited budget and mostly rely on small individual donations for help. The moment we are able to get substantial funding, we will open up all our internship positions as paid opportunities. For now, the gains are mostly non-financial. But interns are well on their way to becoming full-time paid employees if they find that this job fulfills them.
